Overexploitation
Overexploitation in urban areas tends to coincide with habitat loss. With the continual growth of urban population, it seems natural for cities, especially large ones like Seattle, to continue to spread out over time. However, with proper land management and urban development we could condense our population and thus curb the outward expansion and subsequent loss of habitat. By continuing to expand at such a rapid pace, we are overexploiting the land not yet entirely lost to urbanization and are perpetuating the dramatic loss of biodiversity.
